Pedro Malheiro, 48, holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Thermodynamics from Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), Lisbon. He is currently the CEO of LMSI-Engineering, an engineering company dedicated to solving problems and defining technical and innovative solutions throughout the entire lifecycle of buildings. Pedro began his career at LMSI in 2000 as an HVAC Design Engineer, later gaining experience in construction management. He then transitioned into Maintenance and Energy Management for existing buildings, developing a strong foundation in Facilities Management and Energy Efficiency. In 2005, Pedro played a key role in the founding of a startup for maintenance management which became a founding member of the Portuguese Facility Management Association (APFM), where Pedro served as President of the Board for six years, from 2007 to 2013. He is a certified energy expert under the Portuguese regulatory framework. Throughout his career, Pedro has focused on innovation and future-oriented solutions in energy management. This vision led to the development of Wisemetering, an advanced energy consumption management platform developed in the company. Pedro’s expertise spans Design, Construction Management, Maintenance Management, Facilities Management, Energy Management, and Energy Efficiency, always with a commitment to technological advancement and sustainable practices. Throughout his professional journey, Pedro has had extensive interaction with data centers, which have been a consistent part of his technical specialization. These complex and demanding infrastructures have contributed significantly to his expertise in high-performance building systems. In this context, he is also a founding board member of Portugal DC, the Portuguese Data Center Association, where he continues to contribute to the development of the sector.
