Emmanuel Becker is one of Italy’s leading voices in the data center and ICT industry, with over 25 years of executive experience in multinational technology companies. After contributing to the growth of organizations such as Easynet/Interoute, Vocalcom, and eServGlobal in Italy, he served as Managing Director of Equinix Italy and DATA4, two of the world’s leading colocation and interconnection providers. During his tenure at Equinix, he played a key role in the development of Genoa’s submarine cable hub (GN1), helping transform the city into a strategic digital gateway connecting Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. In 2022, he co-founded IDA – Italian Datacenter Association and became its first President, helping place the data center industry at the forefront of Italy’s institutional agenda. He is also credited with the association’s founding slogan: “There is no business without digital. There is no digital without Data Centers.” Since 2024, he has served on IDA’s Advisory Board and, since 2026, on its Board of Directors. He has also been the Italy Ambassador for French Tech Hub for more than eight years, fostering international collaboration and technological innovation. Today, Becker is the CEO of Mediterra DataCenters, a European company focused on developing premium regional data centers across Southern Europe. Under his leadership, the company has strengthened its presence in the Mediterranean region with hubs in Rome, Palermo, and Barcelona, while continuing its expansion through new strategic projects currently under development.
