Agentic City, a city at the service of people
The concept of Agentic Cityconcept, developed through the MAIA (Madrid Artificial Intelligence) initiative of the Madrid City Council, transforms the way citizens interact with municipal services by implementing "intelligent agents" powered by artificial intelligence, capable of understanding natural language and acting autonomously, according to the following principles:
Natural communication using everyday language
Customized solutions for each citizen
Universal accessibility for all residents
Proactive anticipation of needs
This project integrates advanced technologies (RAG, LLMs, LangChain) on a MultiCloud infrastructure, with the support of the Delegated Area of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the Madrid City Council, the Directorate General of the Digital Office and the Autonomous Informatics Agency of the Madrid City Council (IAM), with specialized staff.
Services under development include agents for social services, sports bookings, appointment management, and municipal census, as well as assistants for municipal police and tax administration staff.
Through this initiative, Madrid aims to build a more people-centered municipal administration, pioneering the application of artificial intelligence in public services as a model for cities around the world.
