Legal, financial, and commercial risks already faced by e-commerce businesses in Spain and Europe.

The European Accessibility Act has been in effect since June 2025, with no grace period, and Law 11/2023 already allows for fines of up to one million euros and the loss of subsidies such as the Digital Kit. In France, Germany, and Sweden, inspections related to e-commerce are currently underway. The presentation explains what the EAA actually requires in the day-to-day operations of an online store, how the penalty system is being enforced, and what evidence—such as an audit, an active improvement plan, and a published Accessibility Statement—distinguishes a company at risk from one that is protected.
