Miguel Rego
President,
Artificial Intelligence Cluster of the Community of Madrid
Miguel Rego Fernández is a board member and strategic advisor with more than 25 years of experience and an extensive track record in technology, innovation, cybersecurity, AI, defense, and dual-use technologies.
He currently chairs the Artificial Intelligence Cluster of the Community of Madrid, a position he has held since 2022 as a founding member. In this role, he leads the regional strategy to foster a more connected artificial intelligence ecosystem, accelerate the practical adoption of AI solutions in companies and strategic sectors, and reinforce Madrid’s role as a national and European leader in innovation.
In addition to his role with the Cluster, Rego serves as a cybersecurity advisor to the Fiscal Division of the Inter-American Development Bank and sits on the advisory and board of directors of several companies. His career combines institutional leadership, business management, and a deep connection to the technological innovation ecosystem. He has served as CEO of INCIBE, a member of the National Cybersecurity Council, and has been responsible for driving technological projects and initiatives in public and private organizations linked to security, innovation, and digital transformation. Miguel is a reserve officer in the Spanish Navy.
