David Bell

David Bell is a biologist by training, although his professional career took a different turn when love led him to Menorca. There, he joined the Mascaró Group, a historic footwear manufacturer with roots dating back to 1918, and discovered his true calling: footwear. In 2005, when virtually no one was shopping online, Bell took a pioneering step and launched Pretty Ballerinas as the first Spanish fashion brand to embrace e-commerce, anticipating by more than a decade what is now the norm in the industry. Since then, he has led the brand’s evolution from the iconic handcrafted ballerina flat to a broader range of “fine flat footwear,” now available in more than 35 countries. His journey is, in essence, the story of how a risky gamble and a passion discovered by chance turned Pretty Ballerinas into the international benchmark for flat footwear.
