The Artificial Intelligence Cluster of the Community of Madrid was presented a year ago at an event with the institutional support of the Community of Madrid, held at the Technological Park of the Carlos III University in Leganés, where its headquarters are located, and where the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, stressed that Madrid leads the present and future of AI based on ethics and thinking about the common good.

The Cluster, promoted by the Ministry of Digitalization of the Community of Madrid and with nearly 70 associated companies, wanted to demonstrate that Artificial Intelligence, as a revolutionary tool, has the power to transform society, the different sectors of activity, public services of our administrations and a long etcetera, for which it has supported the implementation of AI-based solutions covering key sectors or areas such as Health, Justice or Environment.

The Minister of Digitalization of the Community of Madrid, Mr. Miguel López-Valverde states that: "Celebrating the first anniversary of the Artificial Intelligence Cluster is to confirm the commitment of the Community of Madrid to innovation and technological development. In just one year, we have managed to consolidate a pioneering ecosystem in the field of AI, which brings together companies, institutions and talent to boost the efficiency, competitiveness and sustainability of our region. We will continue working to make Madrid an international benchmark in artificial intelligence, generating opportunities, attracting investment and placing people at the center of digital transformation."

The aims of the Cluster are to promote the use of AI and associated technologies through a highly effective scheme such as public-private collaboration in the regional innovation ecosystem in order to generate talent, attract investment and promote the use of Artificial Intelligence technologies that provide competitive advantages for companies; in addition, to promote knowledge of AI and promote its use among administrations, the private sector and social agents.

The IA Cluster of the Community of Madrid is committed to a model of operation and management that highlights its workforce capacity, deploying value propositions through the joint action of partners in different projects and promoting their active participation. In addition, after a year of activity, IA Madrid has been professionalized with the incorporation of specialized staff to support the development of the activity generated by the Board of Directors led by its president, Miguel Rego who says in this regard: the Cluster is a powerful tool, unique to strengthen and enhance, with its activities, the economy of Madrid, in a field as cutting edge as Artificial Intelligence, driving new technologies, innovation and talent.

For her part, the new manager of IA Madrid, Charo Pinilla, explains that the work of the Cluster must be framed in a context of public service vocation to society, orienting its activities to the development and improvement of the Artificial Intelligence ecosystem through an integrative and participatory vision of all players with the firm commitment to the achievement of collective benefits.

For this 2025 and this new stage, the Cluster highlights the importance of developing its corporate identity, essential to have a consistent brand message and achieve a strong reputational impact and positioning; as well as the development of an effective communication strategy, both internally and externally, which provides digital presence and brand experience.

This year the Cluster intends to grow its ecosystem through actions aimed at the adhesion of new partners along with the generation of strategic alliances with different entities or organizations.

On the other hand, it will soon launch two new open innovation challenges in the fields of Health and Tourism. Already in 2024 IA Madrid launched the First Open Innovation Challenge in the journalism sector, specifically in the field of press, where different solutions applied in different areas such as the detection of fake news or the improvement of internal processes provided by the participating startups were tested in a real environment with excellent results.

Undoubtedly, 2025 will be a decisive year in the activity of the Cluster and we hope that this first anniversary of its launch will be the beginning of an exciting journey in which Artificial Intelligence will be our ally to drive innovation, strengthen the competitiveness of the business fabric and generate a positive and sustainable impact on society.

The AI Cluster of the Community of Madrid is a non-profit association that brings together companies, associations and institutions, both public and private, that develop activities in the area of Madrid, and that freely associate to promote the development of the Artificial Intelligence sector. a) The establishment and implementation of research, studies, analysis and projects in Artificial Intelligence and any activity that the cluster understands that constitutes a contribution to the community of users, or potential users of the Artificial Intelligence concept and a promotion of the social economy. b) Promote the implementation, standardization and use of technologies related to Artificial Intelligence. c) Promote the intelligent automation of business processes. d) Encourage the knowledge and use by society of the concept of Artificial Intelligence, promoting its use and that of the necessary associated technologies, among the Administrations, companies and social agents.
