Technology and art merge in Bilbao

Artificial Intelligence has ceased to be a promise of the future to become a tool present in all areas: business, social and also cultural. An example of this transformation is the exhibition "Living Architecture: Gehry", led by artist Refik Anadol at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, which marks a milestone in the application of AI to contemporary art. This pioneering initiative, the largest of its kind in the world, relies on MasOrange technology to bring to life an immersive and dynamic experience that redefines the relationship between art and data.

The exhibition is based on the automatic learning of digitized information from the museum's archive. Through a Generative Artificial Intelligence platform, curated and validated images, sketches and plans are processed, respecting copyright. This data is trained in AI models that generate visual art in real time, making the exhibition "alive": projections constantly change, colors evolve and tones transform, creating a unique experience for each visitor.

MasOrange plays a key role as a technological partner of the project. Its contribution has been essential to guarantee the infrastructure and technical solvency required for an exhibition of these characteristics. The company provides broadband and low-latency connectivity, essential for real-time data processing. In addition, it has deployed local servers in the museum for image preprocessing and projection, ensuring optimal performance.

Security and data flow between the cloud and the museum are also guaranteed by MasOrange, which has managed the integration with the Google cloud. The training of the AI models takes place there, while the final data processing is carried out locally, taking advantage of the hybrid infrastructure (local and cloud) designed specifically for this project. This architecture makes it possible to accelerate processing and maintain data security, combining Google's computing power with MasOrange's infrastructure.

"Living Architecture" not only represents a technological challenge successfully met, but also opens the door to future collaborations between the Guggenheim and MasOrange to further explore the potential of AI in the art world.
